Hola, Hola, Hola Beautifuls!

BB’s hoping the holiday season is filling your days with joy y que el pavo que comiste en Thanksgiving was delicioso y tu digestión fácil y con gusto. Pa’ Babushka el Thanksgiving fue rico, pero la digestión de otras cosas, not so much.

Do you remember last month’s article on LATISM? Bueno, además de aprender mucho en conferencias, el “networking” que se hace es unreal!! En LATISM tuve el gusto y honor de conocer Julio Fuentes, el CEO del Hispanic Council for Reform and Educational Options also known as HispanicCREO. He invited BB to attend su conferencia en Orlando al siguiente semana. Por supuesto Babushka fue.

Aquí es donde se me hizo la mala digestión. Quee?? JU SO FONII!!! No, la comida fue excelente, la razón por lo cual se reunieron made BB’s stomach churn. Apparently the Teacher’s Union in Florida have filed a suit stating the scholarship/voucher programs are unconstitutional. Over 80k children in Florida will lose their choice of schools if this suit is won. The majority of these children are minorities, y como el nieto mio, la mayoria son Latinos. Babushka has nothing against the public school system, es mas The Trio are all graduates from there, pero no todos pueden asimilar bien en ese ambiente. We need to have choices, and who better than los padres to make them for their own children? JUNTOS podemos asegurar el futuro de nuestros hijos; JUNTOS logramos los éxitos que solamente una educación buena puede traer.

En Tallahassee el 19 de Enero, se va realizar una demonstración para nuestros hijos y sus futuros. Pueden leer más sobre esto vía lo organización Florida Voices for Choices. Babushka knows that if we all join together, either in person on the 19th, or by corresponding/calling/visiting your local school superintendents, they will see we believe in choice for our children, in what’s best for our children. And that Beautifuls, is something we can do better than anyone else. Join us, y juntos podemos que ellos terminen sus amenazas. We can show them how much we believe in educational equality, in our children, in ourselves. Let’s have them #DropTheSuit.
