Roller derby has officially taken over the Emerald Coast. On Saturday, March 4th, Panhandle United Roller Derby opened up their 2017 Season at the Northwest Florida Fairgrounds to an action packed double header.

Panhandle United Roller Derby’s home team, the Beach Brawl Sk8r Dolls took on the Red River Sirens from Clarksville, Tennessee. After an hour long bout, the Beach Brawl Sk8r Dolls secured a season opener victory with a final score of 231-78.

The second bout was a sanctioned Men’s Roller Derby Association bout. New Orleans Brass Roller Derby from New Orleans, Louisiana took on the Atlanta Men’s Roller Derby ResurGents from Atlanta, Georgia. After a fast paced bout filled with big hits and quick jams, the ResurGents took home the win 198-120.
